This game had promised to be good with both teams sitting at the top of the league, and it didn't let us down.

Marston were the first to net a goal after striker Cameron Homer laid the ball off to an incoming Rowan Alexander whose shot was pushed clear by Tom Casey ,Faringdon's goalie, only for Leo Galpin to smash in the rebound. A second goal for the Saints shortly followed from a pass out to Galpin whose shot bounced awkwardly in front of the keeper to roll home.

Then came the fight back,Faringdon won a free kick just over the half way line,Sam Davies took a magnificent free kick only for George Richards, Saints goalie, to just tip it over the bar!

Faringdon stepped up for the corner catching Marston on the back foot when Harry Snozwell fired an absoulute bullet into the back of the net.

Faringdon continued to pile the pressure on Saints during the rest of the half.

Both teams continued to battle in the second half and it was only a change in players that broke the stalemate. Rowan Alexander lobbed a shot from just over the half way line and watched it drop into the goal. The 4th goal coming from a mazy Leo Galpin run through midfield resulting in a bundled in shot for quick thinking James Strange.

Marston Ran out 4-1 winners after an entertaining mornings football, managing to defend the cup they won last year for another round
