A teenager was sentenced today to 27 months imprisonment for a robbery and two attempted robberies in Oxford.

The jailing of Carl Jameson, 17, from Friar’s Wharf, Oxford, relates to a robbery on July 28 in Christ Church Meadow, and two attempted robberies that happened on July 27 near Folly Bridge and July 26 in Merton Street.

Det Sgt Matt Jarman, based at Oxford police station, said: “Today’s sentencing comes as part of an operation to tackle a robbery series in the city.

“Jameson is a violent man and on each occasion used a knife to threaten his victims, putting them in fear of harm.

“He targeted people who were visiting the city and I hope that this acts as a warning to any robbers in the Oxford area. We will ensure this city is safe for those who work and live here and also for those who visit."

“We will not tolerate this type of crime and the robbery team is working hard to bring any offenders to justice.”
