THESE plastic mannequins are the latest arrivals at the new Debenhams store in Witney.

Kirsty Fitzsimons and Jessica Scott, of the visual arts team, today started rearranging scores of dummies at the shop, in the Marriotts Close shopping development in Welch Way. The mannequins will be dressed in time for the grand opening on Thursday, October 29.

On the same day, store manager Sandra Coulthard took control of the 14,500sq ft shop for the first time.

Her primary job was to ensure the displays of mannequins were in the right places, ready for the clothing and cosmetics to arrive later in the week.

Ms Coulthard said: “Your feet don’t touch the ground from here on in. It’s an exhilarating experience transforming an empty white shell into a fantastic shopping experience that will provide my customers with a feast for their senses.

“I can’t wait to get the doors open.”

The shop will be a Debenhams Desire, stocking womenswear, lingerie, women’s accessories, beauty and childrenswear.

The Witney store will also stock a small range of menswear for the first time.
