The activists who played a part in delaying the construction of a new coal-fired power station in Kingsnorth have done the environment a great disservice.
If the plans had been allowed to go ahead, a brand new coal-fired power station with all the latest technology for carbon capture would have replaced a dirty 35-year-old inefficient power station.
Instead, the old station will continue emitting carbon dioxide for several years beyond the planned closure date. Another case of the patients running the asylum.
