Drivers on Oxford’s ring road were delayed this morning after a lorry overturned.

The accident happened at about 7am at the Abingdon Road roundabout, causing tailbacks on the Southern bypass and Abingdon Road.

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said staff were not required to attend the incident.

The lorry, carrying 60 crates of car parts, has not yet been recovered from the road and traffic is still being forced to go slow.

Another lorry is en route to transfer the load.

Police expect this will be ongoing throughout the morning.
