THE big baby, complete with dummy, was one of the competitors in the Wolvercote Pram Race in 1974. Nine teams completed the one-mile course, surmounting numerous obstacles on the way. Wolvercote Paper Mill Sports and Social Club organised the event.

The Duchess of Marlborough is seen in the second picture planting a tree to celebrate the golden jubilee of the village hall in 1982. She also opened the celebration Autumn Fair and cut the first slice of anniversary cake.

Members of the Fish good neighbours’ movement at St Peter’s Church organised a tea party for the over-60s in 1964. Behind some of the guests in the picture are youngsters from the Sonia School of Dancing who entertained as The Beatles.
