SPORT can help us in so many ways.
Exercise clears the mind, reduces stress and improves physical well-being.
It also gives us a sense of achievement when we end up on a winning side.
So often we hear about how sport gives disabled people, or those who have suffered a physical injury, a sense of purpose or freedom.
In the Oxford Mail today we feature the story of Daniel Seward, who has cerebral palsy.
Daniel is aiming to become a world-class weightlifter, despite having to walk with crutches.
The 23-year-old said pursuing his dream of a place in the Commonwealth Games has helped him with his general mobility.
Perhaps his tale might encourage our readers to keep their New Year’s resolutions about the gym in 2010.
