Oxfordshire is still in a risk area for heavy snow today, Met Office forecasters said today.

There was no snow overnight in the county, leaving the roads clear for drivers heading for work after the Christmas break.

But Met Office spokesman Andrew Kimber said there was still a risk of heavy snow in the northern half of the county as temperatures were due to drop this afternoon.

He added: “Wales and the West Midlands are most at risk, but Oxfordshire is still on the edge of the area which could get heavy snow.”

The forecast for Oxford itself today is light rain, sleet at lunchtime, heavy rain in the afternoon and sleet in the evening.
