Police today appealed for witnesses after burglars stole 40-inch television sets in Shrivenham and Faringdon.

Some time between 1.30pm and 7.30pm on Christmas Eve, offenders broke into a house in Common Close, Shrivenham, and stole a 40-inch television, game consoles and some cash.

On Sunday, December 20, between 8pm and 9pm, offenders forced their way into a house in Willies Close, Faringdon, and stole a 40-inch television.

PC Maria Morrisey said: “The offenders got into the house through an upstairs window.

“A white man was seen acting suspiciously near to the address just before the burglary. He was around 5ft 9in tall, slim, aged in his late teens to early twenties, with dark short hair. He was wearing a waist-length black and blue or black and grey anorak and dark trousers.

“I appeal to anyone who may have seen this man or anyone else acting suspiciously to contact police.”
