Oxford Silver Machine promoter Nigel Wagstaff has revealed that there is no shortage of riders wanting to come to Sandy Lane for next season.
However, he has warned there will no more signings until he has sorted out the No 1 position.
The man he wants to spearhead Oxford's challenge is American ace Greg Hancock, who did such a wonderful job coming into the team last year after Nicki Pedersen was shown the door.
Wagstaff said: "Greg and I are in daily contact trying to find common ground and working hard to secure the right deal. Right now, he is my main target."
At present, Wagstaff doesn't see Lukas Dryml returning to Cowley after being dropped by Poole.
Oxford asset Emil Kramer, who it was thought would figure in the team this season, will go on loan to Hull, although he could still be used at Cowley.
There are problems in finalising a place in the team for highly-rated Polish ace Tomas Bajerski.
