Oxford United supporters were understandably delighted with the FA Cup triumph over their deadly rivals.

But they were even more ecstatic when their team was drawn to face Arsenal away.

For Mike Cann, from Walsall, the draw was just what he had hoped for.

"I watch Oxford most weeks, but I also support Arsenal," he said.

"It's a great tie for me, not least because back in the 60s I was due to go to Arsenal, but the game was called off due to the big freeze. It was rearranged in midweek, which meant I couldn't go, and I still haven't had the chance to get to Highbury.

"But that will change now.

"I was very excited before the game, but although I expected it, I thought it was a scrappy affair. Bobby Ford was outstanding in midfield - he controlled things."

Spencer Callow, from Woodstock, felt United deserved to win, but can't see Ian Atkins's side pulling off a shock.

"It's a great draw for us, although I don't think we've got much chance," he said.

"But we couldn't have asked for any more, really. There is obviously a lot of rivalry between Oxford and Swindon, and I think it took a while for the game to start.

"Swindon didn't take their chances and as the game progressed, Oxford came more into it and were good value for the win in the end."

Peter Rowbotham, from Littlemore, said: "I don't come to many games, but I really enjoyed it.

"I thought Oxford deserved to win, but I don't think we have got the quality of players to go to Arsenal and actually win, but you never know. Anything could happen in the FA Cup."
