Oxford City are likely to be without striker John Mitchell for Saturday's Ryman League Division 1 North derby encounter with local rivals Thame United at Court Place Farm.

The ex-Thame player was taken off with an ankle injury during the first half of Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Arlesey after he was clattered in a late challenge, and is rated very doubtful.

Manager Paul Lee said: "He is almost certainly out, it's a nasty injury. I feel sorry for John, because, being an ex-Thame player, he was anxious to play against his old club."

Lee could give their former Aston Villa player Stuart Lewis his debut after he scored twice for City reserves in their 7-0 win over Abingdon Town on Tuesday.

Ben Cogger, who hit a brace in the game, is also added to the City squad.

Andy Smith (Achilles) and another former Thame man, Justin Lee (ankle), picked up knocks in midweek, but both are expected to be fit.

Boss Lee said: "I'm really looking forward to the game. If we play as well as we have done in our last two games, tomorrow's game won't be a problem.

Thame manager Andy Sinnott, who watched City's defeat at Arlesey, is expecting a tough contest.

"It's the first time I have seen them this season and it gave me a good idea of what they are about. I think, like us, they are better than their league position suggests.

"We have been going well in the league, but the formbook tends to go out of the window in games like this."

Thame are expected to be at full strength.
