A double salvo from Nathan Foley helped Morris Motors lift the League Cup with a 5-2 extra-time win over underdogs Oxford YMCA at Oxford City, writes GEOFF BOWER.

But it was by no means easy, as the valiant Division 2 side battled back from two goals down to level the game against their Premier Division opponents by full-time.

On a hard surface, which made controlling the ball difficult, it was Motors who dominated the first half, establishing a 2-0 lead through Foley and McClean's penalty.

However, they missed a hatful of chances, which they later regretted, as YMCA forced their way back into the contest through Jason Hounslow and David Jennings, as the game went into extra-time. Motors withstood some severe pressure from YMCA, before Foley grabbed his second to put them back in front.

Patrick Enegbu and Stuart McCleary netted to secure the cup.

Arncott won promotion from Division 3 in front of a large home crowd, with a 3-1 victory over visitors South Leigh.

A brace from Nick Smith and another from Banjo Malcolm sealed the win.

It's the second time in as many seasons that Arncott have gone up.

Meanwhile, in Division 2, North Oxford Conservative Club confirmed their championship as they sunk eight-man Riverside 20-1, Julian McCalmon hitting a five-timer.

Riverside took the lead, but couldn't stem the Conservative goal tide, with Julian's brother Jerome, Paul Brough and Andy Wheeler all scoring hat-tricks.

Terry Stockford (2), Gary Chapman, Darren Day, Mark Lieberman and Jason Comley completed the demolition.

Star Wanderers Res fought back from a goal down to beat AFC Sporting Launton 4-2, despite going behind in the first half to a Rob Bedding strike.

Jonathan Hall levelled for Star with a drive from outside the area early in the second half, only for Ron Hopcroft to restore Launton's advantage minutes later.

However, Star were not to be denied, and three goals in the last 20 minutes from Mark Viner, Stuart Fathers and Darren Elford secured the points.

Slack defending and poor finishing proved Northway's undoing again, as they crashed 4-2 at Ashton Villa, Paul Anderson grabbing a four-timer for the hosts.

Simon Drewett pulled one back for Northway after Anderson netted twice, but a defensive blunder allowed Anderson to score his third.

Northway had a penalty saved, before Drewett converted the second spot kick. But as Northway pressed forward, Ashton hit them on the break to settle the tie, Anderson netting again to complete his tally.
