Two elderly people had to be released from a Nissan Micra after it was flipped on to its roof in an accident.
The incident involving another vehicle happened at about 4pm yesterday outside the Marlborough Arms pub at the junction of Newland Road and Gatteridge Street, in Banbury.
The passengers from the Micra were freed by firefighters and treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to The Horton Hospital. The road was closed for two hours and police set up diversions.
Rush-hour traffic suffered long delays in Banbury today after a lorry ran out of control and overturned.
Emergency services were called just before 7am to Ermont Way where the lorry, which contained food, had tipped on to its side.
The lorry driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
