A Wantage woman is still battling it out to win £1m.

Shepherdess Bridget Griffiths and Drew Agger, a firefighter from Abingdon, are taking part in the ITV1 television series Survivor.

The show features six men and six women split into two tribes and marooned off the coast of Panama, where they must learn to cope with a hostile and sometimes dangerous environment.

With limited food and shelter, they must compete in tough mental and physical challenges. Failure to overcome them can lead to a member of the tribe being voted off. Only six people are left from the original 12 who travelled to Panama to take part in the gruelling contest.

Last night's episode saw Bridget needing stitches after a bad fall during one of the show's challenges, and Drew threatening to sabotage the tribe's food if she was not voted off the island.

After Bridget's near-eviction from the island in the previous show, her competitive streak came to the fore during a reward challenge where, in her attempts to do well, she fell and badly cut her leg. After trying to carry on, a doctor had to be called in to administer stitches to the wound.

Drew admitted that she wanted to leave the island and said she was willing to sabotage the tribe's food in order to be voted off.

Last year, Eve Holding became a household name by starring in Survivor. The 31-year-old former Army bomb disposal expert from Wantage was one of the final contestants.
