Archaeologists and historians are being offered a new software system, allowing them to store a database of images so that they can record their finds.
The software, ToadView, has been developed by Oxford University spin-off company Oxford ArchDigital, based in Park End Street.
The company was set up by archaeology lecturer Dr Gary Lock and his former student Dr Tyler Bell, to train archaeologists and museum staff to use computer systems.
It also aims to help museums and county record offices to put their collections on the Internet, with the help of Government money via the Heritage Lottery Fund.
