AFC Wallingford stayed on course for the Combined Counties League Premier Division championship, despite slipping to their fourth defeat of the season, 1-0 at home to Withdean 2000.

They now need to win their final two games to take the title after closest rivals Ash United crashed to a surprise 4-3 defeat at Farnham Town.

In a game of missed chances, Andy Parr, Pete Bryan and Barry Primmer all spurned opportunities, and they were made to pay when Dave Stevens gave Withdean the lead, minutes into the second half.

Mick Mulvaney almost grabbed an equaliser late on, but the keeper made a good save.
