A nuclear research laboratory has been named one of the safest places to work in the country.
The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) which runs the Culham laboratory, near Abingdon, picked up two awards for its safety record from the country's leading safety bodies.
The authority - which is also responsible for decomissioning nuclear facilities at Harwell, near Didcot - received a gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
It was also awarded a National Safety Award from the British Safety Council.
The awards reflect the authority's low accident record, as compared to national figures published by the Government's Health and Safety Executive, and its safety policies and management.
