Ardley United go into their key Division 1 West promotion game at home to Bishop's Cleeve tomorrow uncertain about the future of their talented defender Jason Bedford.

Jason Bedford wants to quit Ardley

Bedford, apparently unhappy with the atmosphere in the dressing room, has told the club that he does not want to play for them again.

But manager Paul Spittle is planning to meet with the player in an attempt to change his mind.

Ardley still have hopes of securing the second promotion spot, in the hope that the league will give the thumbs up to the club's plans for the required up grade of facilities.

Cleeve are currently third, but with games in hand, could overtake Ardley for the runners-up prize.

On current form, Cleeve are favourites as Ardley have hit a poor run of form at the wrong time of the season.

Ardleymust win their last three games, including beating Cleeve and also hope that Cleeve slip up again.

With Steve Ayris struggling with injury, Spittle may well stick with the same side that drew 1-1 with Ross Town in midweek.

In the Premier Division, leading scorer Scott Taylor and midfielder Jason Cook are both doubtful with groin strains for Carterton Town's encounter with bottom club Milton United at Kilkenny Lane.

Striker Paul Sherwood is in Ireland for a wedding.

Jason Maciak is doubtful with an ankle injury picked up against North Leigh in Wednesday, and misses Abingdon United's trip to to Highworth Town.

Jimmy Smith is unavailable but Danny Riley returns, while Mark O'Hara sits out his last game through suspension.

Defender Dwane Quinn is unavailable for Wantage Town's clash with Yate Town at Alfredian Park.

With midfielder Kevin Read doubtful with an ankle injury, Ben Eltham and Chris Whitworth are added to the squad.

Three defenders - Peter Hutter, Marc Jackson and Stuart Huxley - are all expected to have recovered from injuries and will be included in North Leigh's enlarged squad away to Wootton Bassett.

Brothers Lee and Gary Bastable are still injured and miss Quarry Nomads game at home to Chalfont Wasps in Division 1 East.
