Defiant boss Andy Sinnott believes Thame United can still win promotion from Division 1 - despite seeing his side slip out of the top three last night for the first time since the start of the season.

Two months ago, Thame were 19 points clear of Boreham Wood, who were then in fourth spot.

But a dramatic turnaround in the two club's fortunes has seen them swap places.

Sinnott, who takes his side to Bromley tomorrow, admitted: "For the first time this year it is out of our hands a little bit, but we have got to keep a positive perspective on things.

"We have five games to play and although it is a reasonably tough run-in, it's the same for the other sides.

Thame's problems have been added to by goalkeeper Ian Moores' sudden unavailability, and key defender Andy Williams suffering what is thought to be damaged ankle ligaments.

Thame will be hoping Oxford City do them a favour when they take on Braintree Town in Division 1 at Court Place Farm.

But City have problems with keeper Alan Foster (back and ankle), Dwaine Strong (Achilles) and dead leg victims Michael Thorp and Matty Whitehead doubtful.

Centre back Martin Shepherd continues his six-match ban as Abingdon Town visit Ware in Division 3.
