The manager of Kidlington Health Centre is looking for funds to protect the building from vandals.

The centre, in Exeter Close, has been targeted by youngsters who hang around its front door at night.

Windows have been smashed, graffiti sprayed on walls and rubbish left by the vandals in the covered pram and bike park by the entrance.

Staff want to see a new bricked up entrance to discourage youngsters from spending time there as part of the third building phase.

Tariq Malik, the centre's practice manager, said: "They do cause quite a bit of mess and we are hoping that by bricking the covered area up they will go somewhere else."

The third phase will create an enclosed area for wheelchairs and bikes and a new waiting room for patients.

Mr Malik is to negotiate funding for the work with North-East Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust.

Phases one and two of the work saw the building of two new consulting rooms for GPs and three new rooms for the treatment of mental health patients.
