The Environment Agency has created a database that allows you to enter a postcode and find out the environmental conditions in your area.
The online database is called What's in Your Backyard.
Users can search the site for environmental data on a national and local level.
By entering the name of their town or postcode, users can find out if they live in a flood risk area and read a pollution inventory.
The database can also be downloaded for browsing offline.
