Banbury were denied by Baldock at the Stadium yesterday despite twice hitting ther woodwork.
The visitors had most of the possession in the first 45 minutes, but neither side had a shot on target in a disappointing display.
Three minutes after the restart, Banbury were unlucky when Ady Fuller's free kick was met by Matty Gooderick, only to see his header come back off the post before being cleared.
Within 60 seconds, Banbury again suffered cruel luck when Baldock 'keeper Adam Wheeler completely missed his kick from a backpass and the ball hit the opposite post before going out for a corner.
The winning goal came in the 86th minute, substitute Mike Bignall rising to head powerfully past keeper Simon Tricker.
Banbury Utd: Tricker, Wallbridge, McCrae, Sullivan, Muckelberg, Fuller, Corbett, Thompson (Phillips 71), Harrison (Redknap 68), Gooderick, McKay (Essex 83).
