Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pigs Bilbo and Baggins have been given a stay of execution, thanks to the Oxford Mail and This is Oxfordshire.
Owner Thomas Harding received more than 100 calls with wishes of support and offers of a new home for the pigs after an appeal in Saturday's Oxford Mail and on thisisoxfordshire.co.uk
The Harding family, of Quarry Lane, Charlbury, are now considering three offers from people in Wantage, Reading and Stratford-upon-Avon.
The pigs were destined for an abattoir on Thursday, but Mr Harding has postponed their last journey for a week. The family are moving to the United States, and their efforts to find Bilbo and Baggins a new home have been frustrated by foot and mouth restrictions.
Mr Harding received several calls from people who had read about the pigs on the Internet. A man from Cornwall had heard about them on his internet WAP phone.
Mr Harding, 33, said: "It's been unbelievable. It looks pretty good right now. We're feeling more positive."
