Denise Pape made history with an amazing clean sweep of titles in the ODDA finals night at Roman Way.

Pape, from the successful Cowley Community Centre took part in six finals and won the lot to secure the greatest haul of trophies in ODDA's long history.

She started off the evening by winning the ladies' singles title for the first time, beating Quarry Gate's Debbie Stevens.

Pape then teamed up with Karen Williams to defeat teammates Paulette Guy and Hazel Prowton in the ladies' pairs.

In the three-a-side final, Cowley's Pape, Karen Williams and Paulette Guy defeated Blackbird Bar trio of Chris Thompson, Sharon Thompson and J Hamilton 2-1.

Next came the seven-a-side Cup, won by Cowley Community Centre A against Shears, Wantage.

Denise and her husband Ray retained their mixed pairs title by defeating East Oxford Conservatives' John Lucin and Teresa Bowden.

Lastly in the mixed fours, the Papes teamed up with Steve Willoughby and Iris Doyle to win the trophy for the third year running by beating the East Oxford Conservative Club quartet of John and Ann Lucin and Ady and Teresa Bowden.

The men's singles title was won by Kit Young (Angel, Bicester), who defeated College Oak's Simon Smith in a dramatic final.

Young took the first leg, while in the second leg, won by Smith, there were seven tons.

The third and deciding leg proved just as exciting. After Smith missed double 20 with three darts, Young took the title by hitting double five.

The men's pairs title was won by the Shears, Wantage, duo of Dave Exell and Kevin Wilkins, who defeated Ronnie Anderson and Richard Parker (Railway SC).

Shears also won the Stadium Cup (four-a-side), Exell and Wilkins teaming up with Mark Ord and Nigel Huggins to defeat College Oak.

The men's seven-a-side final saw Premier Section champions Railway Social Club A take on runners-up Cowley Community Centre C.

Railway started well when Barry Stratford defeated Peter Jones, but Community Centre hit back to lead 2-1 through Jim Jukes and Paul Cross.

Ollie Varney then defeated Jon Jukes to level the scores.

But Community Centre went on to deny their opponents a league and cup double, when wins from Terry Sapey and Tony Leone gave them a 4-2 success.

ENTRIES for ODDA's Summer League competition must be in by this Saturday.

GEMMA Dumper and Ashley Curtis, of Oxfordshire, reached the semi-finals of the ladies pairs before losing to Hampshire in the Southern Inter-County Youth Championships at Slough.

In the singles event, Oxon's under 18s Marc Adams and Dean Lockyer got through to the second round, as did under 21 player Jason Coates, while Mathew Brain went out in the third round.
