Sir, The recently announced closure of Magdalen Bridge for another three years of May Mornings is a discriminatory gesture against the townspeople of Oxford, specifically those residing in East Oxford whose primary access route to Magdalen Tower is via the bridge.
A minuscule minority of highly educated students voluntarily choosing to jump off a bridge does not constitute a threat to public safety.
