A man who died after being hit by a car in Headington, Oxford, has been named as Anthony Oliver.
The 29-year-old, of Marston Road, Marston, Oxford, was struck as he crossed the London Road, near the Co-op supermarket, at 1am on Sunday.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, but died shortly before 4.45am.
Police are investigating, but it is thought he stepped out into the road into the path of an oncoming turquoise Toyota Carina. The driver of the car was a taxi driver, believed to be in his 40s, but not on duty at the time of the accident. He suffered minor injuries and was treated by paramedics. Mr Wiseman said he had not been arrested.
