The family of a motorcyclist who died after a crash with a car on the A361 near Williamscot today paid tribute to him.

Giles Rose, 43, who lived in Kingsley Road, Northampton, died in the Horton Hospital, Banbury, after the collision which involved his Kawasaki motorcycle and a BMW on Wednesday, July 21.

In a statement his family said: "Giles was born in Bedford in 1966, second son of local solicitor, John Rose. He attended Bedford School until the age of 18 and then went on to Harper Adams Agricultural College.

"Giles’ long association with Northampton began when the family moved to Stowe Nine Churches in 1978 and he later bought his own flat on Kingsley Road.

"Giles had a varied career before setting up Castle Conservatories with his long term friend, Dave Smith five years ago.

!The popular pair built up a good reputation and their close friendship made them a respected team.

"Giles’ passion in life was his motorbikes and he got his first bike aged 17.

"He had only recently attended the Isle of Man TT races which he adored. He loved motorbikes and owned several throughout his life.

"It was this passion that has sadly taken him from this world in a tragic accident last Wednesday.

"Giles had two beloved Jack Russell Terriers and could regularly be seen walking round the racecourse opposite his house with the lively pair beside him. His other interests included archery, where he was a member of a local club, and keeping tropical fish.

"Giles was an intelligent and much admired man. You could always rely on Giles to be there for you no matter what, he wouldn’t care if you called him in the middle of the night – nothing was too much trouble.

"He leaves behind sister, Helen, brother William and best friends Nicky and Dave and meant so much to many others who knew him.

"He now walks peacefully with God and is reunited with his Mum and Dad.

"Giles leaves a massive hole in the lives of many, but those who knew him best have many happy times to thank him for."
