AN Oxford painter is using her art to raise awareness about the impact of industry on the environment.

Sarah Farrow, who lives and works in East Oxford, created the work as part of an exhibition called Natural Embrace.

It is on show until Friday at the North Wall Arts Centre in South Parade, Summertown.

Sarah Lacey, gallery administrator, said: “Her work portrays everyday sights like pylons and wind turbines, and makes them look almost beautiful. It’s all about highlighting the impact of industry on our surroundings through artwork.”

Ms Farrow said: “People often say that wind turbines are ugly but I like them. I think there is an elegance and grace to them.

“Turbines will become like pylons, barely noticed. They will become part of what we accept now.”
