Police are appealing for witnesses after a knifepoint robbery at an Oxford newsagents.
Shortly after 11pm yesterday, two men entered the R&H News store, in St Clements, one of them carrying a knife.
The man carrying the knife demanded the shopworker hand over money from the till and cigarettes. The men then left the store with £25 and 18 packets of cigarettes.
The man carrying the knife was described as white and in his late teens or early twenties.
He was wearing a black scarf over his face, a navy blue hooded chest with white writing across the chest and at the back underneath the hood, dark jogging bottoms and black gloves.
The second man was wearing a navy blue beanie-style hat, a black waist-length jacket with a hood, dark jogging bottoms with three white stripes on the side from the knee to the ankle, a scarf covering his face and dark-coloured shoes.
Det Con Karl Ralph said: “I would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has any information about who carried out this crime.
“I would urge them to come forward as soon as possible and help us with our investigation.”
- A 19-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident and is in police custody.
