In stark contrast to last week when Summertown conceded six goals, this week the defence held strong to keep its first clean sheet of the season, with keeper George Caddick making two very fine saves of what looked certain goals.
The opening minutes of the game were fairly even but the home side had their nerves settled when Octavi Casals Farre opened the scoring. Summertown continued to pressure and pushed further ahead when Callum Grosvenor beat the offside trap and scored his first.
Summertown started the second half without its goal scorers demonstrating its strength going forward. Sean Fairns, Aidan Bradley, Finn Johnson Ward all found the back of the net in the second half while Callum Grosvenor scored his second when he returned to the pitch in the closing minutes of the game.
Summertown United 6 v Cholsey Bluebirds 0 Callum Grosvenor (2), Octavi Casals Farre, Sean Fairns, Finn Johnson Ward, Aidan Bradley
