Burglars escaped with a £10 note after breaking into a home in Pye Street, Faringdon, through a rear window.
The break-in happened sometime between 9.50am on Friday and 9.30am on Saturday, but details were only released today.
PC Fran Griffin said: “We think the burglary happened some time before 11pm on the Friday and the burglars smashed a security light during the break-in.
“We also believe that the break-in was disturbed, as jewellery had been laid out on the bed but wasn’t stolen. The only thing that was actually taken was a £10 note.
“I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who saw or heard anything suspicious.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Griffin via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
