I AM writing to ask Oxford Mail readers to support Diabetes UK in encouraging people to talk about their diabetes during this week’s Diabetes Week.

An estimated one million people with diabetes could be risking their health by keeping their diabetes a secret, for fear of being treated unfairly or differently.

No one with diabetes should have to keep their condition a secret.

Diabetes UK is aiming to raise £200,000 this week to expand its careline, to support more people with emotional distress, anxiety, depression and other difficulties related to diabetes.

For more information about Diabetes Week and how you can get involved, please telephone 020 7424 1000, visit diabetes.org.uk/ diabetesweek, or email DiabetesWeek@diabetes.org.uk
