WOMEN were last night warned to continue to be vigilant, with two sex attackers still on the loose in Oxford.

Increased police patrols are ongoing in East Oxford and Cowley as police look for the two men they believe are responsible for five sex attack in 10 days.

Det Insp Simon Morton said: “We would continue to urge woman to remain vigilant and be sensible.

“Don’t walk home alone late at night.

“All of our officers have been told to go via the area every time they come into the city to increase patrols.”

He said detectives were still working their way through hundreds of leads they received in response to earlier appeals for information through the Oxford Mail.

Two women, aged 21 and 24, were victims of attacks in the Southfield Road area on May 29.

Four days later, on June 2, two women, aged 19 and 20, were attacked by a man in the same area.

Police are hunting a second man following a fifth sex attack on June 5 on a woman in Westbury Crescent, Cowley.

The 19-year-old victim was punched in the head several times and told police she bit the man on the hand.

Police have released e-fit images of both suspects as they continue to appeal for witnesses. Anyone with information about either of the men should call police on 08458 505505 or the Crimestoppers anonymous hotline on 0800 555111.
