A man accused of murder was last night remanded in custody by magistrates before appearing at Oxford Crown Court today.
Daniel McCollin, of Blay Close, Oxford, appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court yesterday accused of the murder of Denis Witney.
Mr Witney, 39, was found dying in St Clement’s Street, East Oxford, by police on patrol last Wednesday night.
He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, but died soon afterwards.
McCollin, 29, was one of four people arrested by police on suspicion of murder during investigations.
A post-mortem found Mr Witney had suffered injuries consistent with blunt trauma to his head and abdomen, but police said the examination had failed to determine what killed him.
