WORSHIPPERS are celebrating completing a £330,000 extension project to their Victorian church after 13 years of fundraising.
Grove Methodist Church in Main Street now has a new meeting room, kitchen, toilets, and a storage area.
The church is planning a special opening weekend on January 7-8 after more than six months of construction.
Church member Jenny Marriott said: “The additional space and up-to-date facilities are already proving a great asset in the life and activities of our church.
“We hope that the improved facilities will also be of benefit to the regular users of our premises and others in the community who may like to make use of them.”
The new extension is already being used by Rainbow and Guide groups, pilates classes, slimming classes and dance lessons.
On Saturday, January 7, there will be an opening ceremony at 2pm by the Rev Peter Hancock, chairman of the Methodist Church in the Northampton district.
The following day there will be the annual Covenant service led by local minister the Rev Martin Smithson.
