ONE man’s passion for his village has led to him setting up his own museum of its history.
And history buff Graham Kew, 69, is now writing a new book on Minster Lovell to boot.
The loyal villager hopes will be a great success and having first moved to the village at the age of six, he can certainly claim to know a little bit about it.
Mr Kew, pictured, said: “I have been writing it for three or four years, and a friend of mine is helping to illustrate the buildings.
“It is hard when you are working full-time, and I am not a great reader so it has been a struggle.
“But there is evidence of activity here dating back to before the Romans.”
Based in a room of his printing studio on Burford Road, The Minster Lovell Experience opened nine years ago and is made up of objects of local interest which have been donated to him by his fellow villagers.
Mr Kew said: “We have got a lot of old photographs and pictures. We have got pottery and pieces of armour. Some people go into the river and come out with bits of Saxon pottery. They give me things because they know it is not a financial venture.”
The Minster Lovell Experience is open between 10am and 1pm between Monday and Friday and on Saturday by appointment.
Entry is £2 for adults and free for children.
