INSTEAD of wasting so much time, effort and money on “rebranding” Abingdon with the twee appendage “on Thames”, perhaps we could maintain the free school transport for our children. As it is apparently deemed safe, by our councillors for 11-year-olds to walk from Drayton to John Mason School, perhaps our town should be known as Abingdon-on-Foot?
