AN OXFORD audience is to experience the passion of flamenco dancing in an intimate performance at the Pegasus Theatre.
Flamenco Intimo, which has now sold out, will be performed at the venue in Magdalen Road as part of the Dancin’ Oxford festival.
Dancer Amarita Vargas will be accompanied by a guitarist and a singer in the show on Saturday, March 3.
She said: “It is an evening of traditional Flamenco in an intimate cabaret style setting with live musicians.”
She said flamenco was a very expressive form of dance adding: “It has many moods – from the fiery, exciting and joyful, to the quite sombre and serious.”
Ms Vargas, from Wolvercote, has been flamenco dancing for 15 years and teaches at the Old Fire Station, in George Street, Oxford.
