A 22-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach and arms in an attack in East Oxford this morning.

The man was found at around 1.30am in Temple Street with multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital by paramedics and is currently undergoing surgery.

Police were called to the scene but do not believe the stabbing took place in Temple Street.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Hayles said: “The suggestion at this time is that the man was injured half an hour earlier at another location and made his way to Temple Street where he was discovered.”

Officers are looking at CCTV footage from the area and making door-to-door enquires.
