OXFORD teenagers got a taste of African dancing at Pegasus Theatre.
The group of 18 were given a lesson in traditional African dance on Sunday as they created a short piece with the help of Tavaziva Dance Company.
It will be performed at the launch of Dancin’ Oxford in the Westgate Centre on Saturday.
Mollie Fowler, 15, from Bicester, was one of the youngsters taking part in the workshop.
She said: “African dancing is a lot more expressive and less controlled. I do quite a bit of dancing already and this is pretty different. I am really looking forward to taking part in the Dancin’ Oxford launch.”
Tavaziva Dance Company is in town for its Sensual Africa production, which will be showing at the Pegasus on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25.
