FAMILIES tried out bushcraft events in Cornbury Park to get a taste of what will be on offer at this summer’s Wilderness Festival.

The festival will take place at the Charlbury stately home of Lord and Lady Rotherwick on August 10 to 12.

In the run-up to the festival, the park has been hosting taster events and on Saturday families tried out fire-making, trap setting and crayfish catching.

Lady Rotherwick said: “I was delighted to welcome so many people to Cornbury for the bushcraft event.

“It was a great taste of what the Wilderness Festival will have on offer.”

Lee Harris, 42, of Charlbury, attended the event with his children Chloe, 11, and Zac, nine, right.

Mr Harris said: “The kids absolutely loved it. It was all hands-on and it was really good for them.

“A lot of people said they did not realise the Wilderness Festival will be like this and were interested in taking their kids along to the event.”
