The crowds have turned out for a major cycling event in the city centre today.

Round three of 11 in the Halfords Tour Series has been held in Oxford for the first time, on a 1km oval circuit around St Giles.

The race saw main streets shut off for much of the day.

Some of the country’s top cycling teams took part, as well as Olympic gold medallists and World Champion riders.

The main event is due to start at 7pm.
