BICESTER’s new mayor will be marking three very special events this year — the Jubilee, Olympics and his 40th birthday.
Dan Sames, 39, has taken over the hot seat from Rose Stratford to become the civic leader.
And it’s not the first time the town and district councillor has taken on the role.
He became the town’s youngest mayor when he was selected in 2005 aged 32.
He said: “I feel really privileged, I had a great year last time and not many people have the opportunity to be mayor twice.
“I look forward to meeting people from all over Bicester during my year of office and hope that people will support me in raising money for two very worthwhile courses.”
Mr Sames has pledged to raise for cash for the Haematology Trials Fund in memory of former councillor Carol Steward, who died last year, and 23 Pioneer Regiment Benevolent Fund.
