HEADTEACHER Joan Morters promised Wheatley Primary School would be out of special measures within a year and that has been achieved.
Mrs Morters, her teachers, the new executive board, the parents and the pupils all deserve credit for working heard to improve a failing school.
Going into special measures is never a good thing, but perhaps it was a necessary nadir that will be used as a positive to ensure the school presses onwards and upwards.
