Oxford’s newest community paper has got off to a promising start.
The Cowley News is run by volunteers and organiser Henrietta Gill said: “There has been lots of interest in it so far.
“What we are trying to do with this project is give people a sense that Cowley exists as a community.”
Oxford East MP Andrew Smith is pictured, centre, with the volunteers at the launch at the Templars Square shopping centre.
Of the 5,000 copies printed, 2,000 have been distributed within the first week.
The next paper will come out towards the end of the year, with a view to becoming a quarterly paper in 2013.
