GREEN-FINGERED children have been given a new plot to work on, at Christ Church Cathedral.
The cathedral’s head gardener John James has given the nursery children at Christ Church Cathedral School space to grow herbs and vegetables.
Strawberries and runner beans feature among the tasty crops.
Some of the hard work has already made its way to the dinner table, with watercress for egg salad sandwiches and oregano for pizzas.
Mr James said: “They seem to be getting a lot out of it.”
