AN American father and the husbands of his two daughters were last night named as those killed in the car crash near Sandford-on-Thames on Monday evening.
Police confirmed last night that Andrew Pain, 31, from London, died in the accident on the A4074, along with Stephen Hughes, 57, and Gregory Brooks, 39, both from Maryland in the US.
Sisters Sarah Pain, 29, from London, and Angela Hughes-Brooks, 37, from Maryland, were seriously injured.
Last night they were in a stable condition at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital. The group had celebrated Mr and Mrs Pain’s marriage at the weekend with British relatives and friends who had not been able to attend their wedding in the US.
Mr Pain’s family paid tribute to him.
They said: “Our son and brother Andrew Pain was just one of the five people involved in this tragic accident.
“All three men were killed in the collision leaving Sarah and Angela seriously injured and without husbands or a father, but thankfully alive.
“If there is any good to be found in this dreadful situation it must be that we are all now incredibly aware of and grateful for the love we share with our remaining family.”
