WOODSTOCK Primary School celebrated its centenary in 1955 and an Oxford Mail photographer dropped in to mark the occasion.
Headmaster Mr C C S Bowley is seen in the picture above giving an English lesson to 10- and 11-year-old pupils.
Elderly people were invited to lunch one day a week at Marlborough School for just £1 in 1988.
Wesley Merry, 12, is seen in the middle picture entertaining his grandmother, Joan Merry, centre, and Alice Cook. More than 20 pensioners enjoyed lunch with pupils on Mondays and Fridays.
Primary school children learned about the age of steam trains in 1986.
They are seen in the bottom picture with a model of 1473 Fair Rosamund, the locomotive which ran on the Kidlington-Woodstock line until it closed in 1954. The model had been made by George Danbury, of Hensington Road.
