DOZENS of youngsters from around the world danced through Oxford city centre to bring a cultural event to a spectacular end.

Dressed as native birds, 120 children from seven countries, including Croatia, Thailand and Russia, took part. The event, which was organised by Oxford’s Pegasus Theatre, ended with a performance at the Newman Rooms, St Aldate’s.

The youngsters devised the show themselves after attending workshops and classes for the past 10 days.

Eve Martin, 14, of East Oxford, said: “The part I enjoyed most was actually spending so much time with all the people from all over the world. Every country brought a show to share with everyone else.”

Pegasus Theatre’s Gill Jaggers said: “Sharing ideas, skills and interests is really important to learn about other cultures.”
